On Friday 22nd March we’ll be holding our annual ‘Walk for Water’. This event is held on World Water Day to bring a focus on the millions of people around the world who don’t have access to safe water.
Year 10 students from schools all round the diocese will be coming together to walk from Granary Wharf in the centre of Leeds to Kirkstall Abbey. At the abbey a special liturgy and a ‘Hungry for Change’ picnic will be held in support of CAFOD’s campaign for those around the world who do not have enough food and we’ll be asking for support for small scale farmers.
So far 60 students have pledged to walk with us together with Claudia Elliot from the campaigns team in London, who will be updating us on the ‘Hungry for Change’ campaign.
If you’re a student who would like to walk with us or a teacher or youth worker interested in bringing a group then please contact Margaret Siberry or Joanne Taylor at firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember you can stay in touch with all that’s happening in the diocese by liking the CAFOD Leeds facebook page or following @CAFODLeeds on twitter.
