El Salvador Trip

Friends of CAFOD Leeds are flying to El Salvador with the Romero Trust today with the hope of visiting our Connect2 Community in Puentecitos.

Mollie and David Somerville, Joe Burns and Joanne and Steve Taylor will also deliver a card to our friends in the Puentecitos Community. The card was made by year six pupils at St. Benedict’s Catholic Primary School, Garforth and contains messages from the school and parish. Fr. Gerard Kearney and the children presented the card to Joanne and Steve at the end of mass on Sunday.

Connect2 is an exciting new way to create solidarity across the world. In March this year, four members of the Puentecitos community visited England and Wales and brought excitement to Leeds with their Latin American music and dance.

Their reflections on the trip to England can be found here: http://connect2elsalvador.wordpress.com/

If technology permits, we will have updates from the El Salvador trip here on our blog.
