Leeds Diocese Remember Loved Ones At Memorial Mass

Leeds diocesan parishioners gathered together to pay respects to loved ones who have died at a CAFOD memorial mass.

A book of remembrance was presented at the mass

The mass took place on Friday November 3 at St Cuthbert’s Church in Bradford and a book of remembrance including the names of CAFOD supporters who have sadly died this year was handed over.

After the mass, there was an opportunity to enjoy a soup lunch in aid of CAFOD, which takes place once a month.

Molly Somerville organises the soup lunches. She said: “We have homemade vegetarian soup with bread and cheese once a month. This is after 12pm mass on the first Friday of the month.

Parishioners enjoyed a soup lunch after the memorial mass

“During Lent this is every Friday and it has become a tradition which has been running for more than 10 years!”

CAFOD representative in Leeds, Bronagh Daly, said: “This is a lovely way to remember loved ones and was CAFOD’s opportunity to stop and say thank you for the incredible impact our supporters have made.

“We hope the soup lunches carry on running at St Cuthbert’s Church for many years to come!”
