Madeline Steps into the Gap at LTU

We are delighted to welcome Madeline Woods to CAFOD in the Diocese of Leeds as a ‘Step into the Gap’ Volunteer. Madeline started her placement at Leeds Trinity University 4 weeks ago, welcoming Fresher’s and returning students and sharing opportunities for them to explore their faith through the chaplaincy services.

Madeline will be supporting the Chaplaincy team with CAFOD campaigns, prayer and fundraising actions throughout the year. As part of her year with CAFOD, Madeline will be visiting local schools and parishes to talk about her experience in Global Development and is currently preparing for her international visit, working with our charity partners in, Uganda.

Madeline has done quite a few things such as helping with tea on the landing at Leeds Trinity University and talking to staff and students about CAFOD. Recently Madeline organised a soup event for Harvest fast day raising £25, from doing this Madeline was able to raise awareness for CAFOD.

Today Madeline met the Mini Vinnies at St Nicholas Catholic Primary School in Leeds, to hear about their fundraising for CAFOD to support the people in Indonesia

If you would like to invite Madeline to your school or parish, please get in touch with Bronagh (0113) 275 9302 or send us an email to leeds@cafod.org.uk
